![]() ![]() It’s never too late to get back up again, Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, “It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.” The second son he named Ephraim and said, “It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.” ( Genesis 41:51-52 NIV) How he named his sons gives us a glimpse into the depth of his faith and reliance on God. He relied on God to see him through everything life brought his way, praising God throughout. Joseph ended the match on his feet, victorious over the setbacks he faced in life. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. ![]() Joseph’s brothers were ashamed of their actions toward him and afraid Joseph would seek retribution, yet here is how he reassured them:īut Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. ![]() He was reunited with his brothers and father. Through Joseph’s leadership, the Egyptian people prepared for and survived the 7 year famine and were able to help neighboring peoples, including Joseph’s own family. Round 4: Reunited and reconciled with his family Then, through seven years of famine, he had to manage those rations to keep people fed, yet endure until the rains returned. Through seven years of plenty, he had to convince the Egyptian people to build a stock pile of their harvest. When he provided an interpretation, Pharoah released Joseph from prison and made him leader over all the people, to lead them through the coming famine. He stayed in the prison for more than two years, until he had an opportunity to interpret Pharoah’s dreams. While in prison, Joseph again earned favor and was placed in charge of the other prisoners. Round 3: Finally released from prison, only to endure a 7 year famine Joseph was thrown in prison, stripped again of all honor and respect. Then, Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce him and, when he rejected her, she lied to her husband that Joseph had tried to attack her. His life seemed to be getting back on track and recovering from his early setback. Joseph got back on his feet and became Potiphar’s trusted household manager. He survived that harrowing ordeal and ended up in the household of Potiphar, one of Pharoah’s officials. Stripped of all familial love and the special coat his father had given him as a sign of honor and blessing, he was rejected by those who should have loved him most. His own brothers, plotting to kill him, threw him into a well and then opted to sell him into slavery instead. Round 1: Sold into slavery by his own brothers His life reads like a boxing match, each rounding ending with Joseph nearly knocked out, yet he stands back up and continues fighting. Joseph, the favored son of Jacob, knew about getting knocked down. In the wonderful and precious Name of Jesus we pray, amen.When we feel like life just keeps knocking us down and we’re not sure we can keep getting up again, we can take hope from Joseph. We believe and receive everything we’ve prayed and give You glory in advance for this prayer is answered! ![]() Thank You that no matter what the enemy brings against the person I am praying for, the power of God within them overcomes any and all opposition that would come against them. Praise you that they are Your child and greater are You who are in them than anything they come up against. Yes, we decree and declare that they have the power of the mighty Holy Spirit within them to keep getting up again and again. We decree and declare that no matter how hard they get hit in life or how often they may fall, they will always stand back up in Christ! Remind them Lord that when things don’t turn out as they planned that You have the miraculous ability to make all things work together for good in the end! No matter what they may be facing right now, the enemy cannot overcome them. ![]()
